Learn how to overcome anxiety, self-doubt, and self-sabotage. In this book, you'll discover the root cause of psychological and emotional suffering is our own thinking and how to achieve freedom from our thinking to effortlessly create the life we've always wanted to live.
Although pain is inevitable, suffering is optional.
Author Joseph Nguyen observes, that we cannot solve our problems with the same level of consciousness that created them; that tactics are temporary, that there is a separation between thought and thinking. Thoughts are inevitable, but the thinking that happens after that thought, can be channelized, and if we are able to achieve this channelizing (which with practice we are) then a better perspective to life awaits us.
Don't Believe Everything You Think is not specifically about rewiring your brain, rewriting your past, or just positive thinking. It's about helping one see how to go beyond one's thinking and discover the truth of what we already intuitively know deep inside our soul.
If there is one thing that I readily take away from this book is the way in business we focus on the controllables (control the controllable variables) in life our thinking and the direction we take our thinking is controllable. Controlling thoughts may not be possible (it might require a deeper mastery of meditation and Yoga) but what follows after those thoughts, our thinking (positive, negative, scenarios, if then this then that, else if, what if, etc etc) all that is controllable. Originating from our mind, Enhanced by our mind, Burdening our mind and finally Stopped by our mind or Changed by our mind.
It's no doubt a thought provoking introspective topic and book.
Why not 5 stars ? Well, once I got to know the true content and the idea got infused in me, once I had the chance to reflect and put deep "thought" in it .. then most of the remaining pages felt repetitive.
Get maturity in the way you lead, the way you think and change the way you lead.
